NIGHT WEPT!, by
First Line: As she folded her dark wings about her
Last Line: To brush them away.
Subject(s): Night; Bedtime

As she folded her dark wings about her,
Night must have wept quietly, silently,
For this morning, as I glanced
From out my window-pane,
I saw tears, shy and tender,
Sparkling from grass-blade tops --
Glistening -- waiting
For the cool morning wind
To brush them away.
