EDGE OF THE DAY, by BURL BREDON First Line: He shall wake in the dawn Last Line: On the edge of the day. | |||
He shall wake in the dawn with the rain on the roof like the beat of a heart that is frightened and fleet. He shall watch in the dark till the edge of the day finds the window and steals to the wall at his feet. He shall never forget that I moved in his life. He shall never forget that my laughter was gay. Though the moment was brief, he shall never forget -- he shall think of me still on the edge of the day. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SPOON RIVER ANTHOLOGY: COONEY POTTER by EDGAR LEE MASTERS IN THE HOME STRETCH by ROBERT FROST WHITTIER by MARGARET ELIZABETH MUNSON SANGSTER THE FOOL'S ADVENTURE by LASCELLES ABERCROMBIE |
