RAIN, by KATHERINE B. BUSHLEY First Line: My heart beats faster Last Line: To my small porch to pause. Subject(s): Desire; Rain | |||
My heart beats faster When I see rain All in a spatter On the windowpane. I eagerly look forward To chill damp nights When we walk onward 'Neath fog-dimmed lights. Your mist-damp face Relaxed and calm Retards my pace And I seek your palm. Somehow heavenly peace Descends with rain Sweetened thoughts release The overburdened brain. But most of all I love The dripping rain; because It sends the shy "stock-dove" To my small porch to pause. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...DISTANT RAINFALL by ROBINSON JEFFERS CHAMBER MUSIC: 32 by JAMES JOYCE HEAVY SUMMER RAIN by JANE KENYON CROWD CORRALLING by MARGARET AVISON THE RAIN-POOL by KARLE WILSON BAKER ON THE GREAT ATLANTIC RAINWAY by KENNETH KOCH LOVE'S GREETING by KATHERINE B.
