Sleep, sleep, my darling! Eyes of blue, close. Sweet be thy slumber, Calm thy repose. Now over the wide world Night gathers fast. Slumber, my darling, Day comes at last. Sleep, sleep, my darling! Golden head, rest. Bright be thy visions, Dreams ever blest. Zephyrs of evening Fan thy hot brow. Slumber, my darling, God watches now. Hush, hush, my loved one! Why dost thou weep? Angels watch o'er thee, Sleep, darling, sleep. Now sails the bright moon Through the dark sky. Slumber, my darling, Mother is nigh. Sleep, sleep, my dear one! Naught must thou fear.
