Subject(s): Faith; Night; Belief; Creed; Bedtime

Nightly the dews of heaven spill
Enchantment over tree and hill,

To charm the rose, to fill the air
With fragrant pleasures everywhere.

Now that the evening chimes are rung,
Now that the evening prayers are sung,

O love, thy heart, thy flower cup
Hold, that the Lord may fill it up!

Even as dews that lightly fall
His love lies brooding over all.
