CHARMAID, by
First Line: Silver slippers beckon me
Last Line: To tread, in silver slippers.
Subject(s): Household Employees; Servants; Domestics; Maids

Silver slippers beckon me
Offering to climb the stair,
To forbidden everywhere.
Silver slippers? Ecstasy!
Fairyland for one like me!
In my clumsy rubber pair,
Made with zippers,
I scrub down the golden stair,
That other maids may find it fair,
To tread, in silver slippers.
