THE WALL, by MARGARET FRASER First Line: The stiffened brain is reeling Last Line: Seven times round. | |||
The stiffened brain is reeling With pushing against the blood That being thickened with feeling, Is rigid as wood. The blood is an obstinate wall: Resisting sudden shock, Resisting gradual pull, It stands like rock. The walls of Jericho Once melted to the ground. The steady brain must go Seven times round. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...TO MY HORIZONS by MARGARET FRASER TO THE POET IN AUTUMN by MARGARET FRASER FRAGMENTS INTENDED FOR DEATH'S JEST-BOOK: A LOFTY MIND by THOMAS LOVELL BEDDOES HABAKKUK'S PRAYER by WILLIAM BROOME A SEPTEMBER BIRTHDAY IN BRITTANY by ABBIE FARWELL BROWN STRAFFORD; A TRAGEDY by ROBERT BROWNING BOUNDARIES by CATHERINE CATE COBLENTZ ADDRESSED TO A YOUNG MAN OF FORTUNE by SAMUEL TAYLOR COLERIDGE |
