THOUGHTS IN A BEAUTY SHOP, by MAUDE R. MEYER First Line: Quiet and busy hands Last Line: (my thoughts have been worth the price). Subject(s): Beauticians | |||
Quiet and busy hands, Perhaps a word or two, "How do you like your nails?" "Shall we try an oil shampoo?" What do they think all day, These girls who work with care, Dolling a beauty up, Making my lady fair? What is the difference here, Isn't it all the same? Isn't it living the life, Aren't we playing a game? What will it matter at last Whether she worked and I played? Isn't our life all set, Aren't our circles made? "O! am I through so soon?" "Thank you, it's very nice." "O yes, I'll come again." (My thoughts have been worth the price). | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...BEAUTICIAN by THOMSON WILLIAM GUNN CAMPUS SONNET: MAY MORNING by STEPHEN VINCENT BENET ON THE WAY (PHILADELPHIA, 1794) by EDWIN ARLINGTON ROBINSON ESTHER; A YOUNG MAN'S TRAGEDY: 50 by WILFRID SCAWEN BLUNT UPON THE DEATH OF SIR ALBERT MORTON'S WIFE by MARCUS VALERIUS MARTIALIS ON KEATS, WHO DESIRED THAT ON HIS TOMB SHOULD BE INSCRIBED: by PERCY BYSSHE SHELLEY A REMEMBRANCE OF SOME ENGLISH POETS by RICHARD BARNFIELD PSALM 34.
