SONG IN SEASON, by ROBERTA ROBERTSON First Line: Ho, time to fish again! And I shall go Last Line: My soul has caught a rapturous glimpse of god. Subject(s): Fish & Fishing; Nature - Religious Aspects | |||
Ho, time to fish again! And I shall go Where attic coffers yield an overflow Of boots and creels, old clothes and books of flies And thoughts of snow-fed streams; the bluest skies And alder thickets bursting leaves; the feel Of tugging speckled beauties on the reel ... Untangling last year's lines, left all awry, I crisscross them from beam to beam to dry Glad, glad to fish again with blossomed spring And dreamsa thousand ice-loosed dreams! I smile And say, "With fishing good, outdoors will bring Forgetfulness and peace." And all the while There is much more. When I unjoint my rod My soul has caught a rapturous glimpse of God. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...LANDSCAPES (FOR CLEMENT R.
