THE POET'S DELAY, by HENRY DAVID THOREAU Poet Analysis Poet's Biography First Line: In vain I see the morning rise Last Line: No woods still echoing to my lay? Subject(s): Poetry & Poets; Writer's Block | |||
In vain I see the morning rise, In vain observe the western blaze, Who idly look to other skies, Expecting life by other ways. Amidst such boundless wealth without, I only still am poor within, The birds have sung their summer out, But still my spring does not begin. Shall I then wait the autumn wind, Compelled to seek a milder day, And leave no curious nest behind, No woods still echoing to my lay? | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...A SUNDAY DRIVE THROUGH EAGLE COUNTRY by LAURE-ANNE BOSSELAAR AN ORIGINAL THOUGHT by MARIA ABDY THE UNWILLING MUSE by GUY WETMORE CARRYL POEM - UNFINISHED POEM by THOMAS MCGRATH THE POET PERPLEXT by ROBERT SOUTHEY A LITERARY CRISIS by AMOS RUSSEL WELLS |
