EX-SANTA FEAN, by MERLIN WENDLAND First Line: So, caballero, you go now? Last Line: For that town of santa fe. Subject(s): Sante Fe, New Mexico | |||
So, Caballero, you go now? Perhaps you come back some day And tell me, amigo mio, How it is in Santa Fe? Las' year I live there in the valley On the edge of the ol' ciudad. Now I herd my sheep and remember That swell good times I had. I had life and wine and singing -- A new sweetheart every day. I think all the devils envy me For that fun in Santa Fe. Is the grass now green in the plaza? The flowers -- do they bloom this spring? And the senoritas' laughter, Does it still have that same sweet ring? You will be there my frien', for fiesta. Think one little thought -- I pray -- For a lonely exile, longing For that town of Santa Fe. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SANTA FE AT DUSK by GEORGIA MOORE EBERLING DESERT SONG by JOHN GALSWORTHY BURROS by JOHN CURTIS UNDERWOOD ROAD BLOCK: SANTE FE, NEW MEXICO by CONNIE DEANOVICH SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO by APRIL HALPRIN WAYLAND AN ETERNITY by ARCHIBALD MACLEISH PISGAH SIGHTS by ROBERT BROWNING ROBINSON CRUSOE ['S STORY, OR ISLAND] by CHARLES EDWARD CARRYL IN THE NEOLITHIC AGE by RUDYARD KIPLING A BATTLE BALLAD TO GENERAL J.E.
