NEVER by EMILY JANE BRONTE

Poet Analysis

First Line: NOT MANY YEARS, BUT LONG ENOUGH TO SEE
Subject(s): DEATH; MOURNING; DEAD, THE; BEREAVEMENT;

Not many years but long enough to see
No ten can deal such deadly misery
āàAs the dear friend untimely called away;
And still the more beloved, the greater still
Must be the aching void, the withering chill
āàOf each dark night and dim, beclouded day.
