STUDY FOR A GEOGRAPHICAL TRAIL; 3. WASHINGTON, D.C. by CLARENCE MAJOR

Poet Analysis

First Line: DON'T LOSE ANY IMPORTANT PAPERS
Last Line: soldiers laughed at the holes / in my head
Subject(s): TOKYO; WASHINGTON, D.C.;

Don't lose any important papers.
If they can't trace you to paper
you're lost. When I traveled alone
in foreign countries the officials
discovered -- before I did -- that
I did not have arms. In Tokyo
soldiers laughed at the holes
in my head.
