Venus, in sport, to please therewith her dear,
Did on the helm of mighty Mars the red.
His spear she took; his targe she might not steer.
She looked as though her foes should all be dead,
So wantonly she frowneth with her cheer.
Priapus gan smile and said, 'Do way for dread,
Do way, madam, these weapons great and grim.
I, I for you am weapon fit and trim.'
