The autumn woods in late October vie In warmth and glowing colors with the rare And costly art at Nature's Annual Fair, As if to charm each vagrant passer-by; The Master Hand had lavished all His dye -- Bright crimson, ochre, scarlet without care, Then toned them down with haze of balmy air To harmonize with gold-tinged sunset sky.
