A YOUTH TO HIS FATHER by WALTER R. ADAMS

First Line: TOO LONG A FLEDGLING IN THE NEST
Last Line: SO LOOSE THE BONDS: I MUST GO FREE.
Subject(s): FATHERS;

Too long a fledgling in the nest,
I crave the bright and windy quest
Life holds, nor ask which way is best.

A voice -- Adventure's! -- speaks to me,
Crying city, desert, sea!
So loose the bonds: I must go free.
