HIS OWN EPITAPH by AESCHYLUS

First Line: ONE AESCHYLUS, ATHENIAN BORN
Last Line: WHO TRIED AND FOUND IT GOOD.
Subject(s): EPITAPHS; SELF;

ONE AEschylus, Athenian born,
Son of Euphorion,
Lies under this memorial stone
In Gela's fields of corn.

At Marathon a sacred wood
His courage will declare,
Or ask the Medes, with braided hair,
Who tried and found it good.
