GRAY MOOD by MARJORIE AKERMAN B.

First Line: LONG, SWEEP
Last Line: AND THE SLOW WAVES SING.
Subject(s): SEASHORE; BEACH; COAST; SHORE;

Long sweep
Of silver sand . . .
Pale sky
Over black deeps
Of never-ceasing
Somber waves . . .

A pearl-white flash
Of a sea gull's wing . . .
The floating purple robes
Of coming dusk
Waver and weave
Through the white shroud
Of mist . . .
And the slow waves sing.
