ROSES by AL-GHASSANI

First Line: ROSES, ROSES FRESH AND FAIR
Last Line: IN THE MIDDLE OF THEIR CUP.
Subject(s): FLOWERS; ROSES;

Roses, roses fresh and fair
Shining on the summer air
In their jackets crimson bright
And their tunies snowy white.

These in virgin whiteness are
Dazzling like a lustrous star.
Those in crimson splendour show
Radiant as twilight's glow.

Others have a golden gleam
In their centres, that would seem
Grains of sesame, heaped up
In the middle of their cup.
