ABODE DIVINE by AL-RUSAFI

First Line: ENCHANTING NIGHT!
Last Line: AT GLOAMING'S CUP.

Enchanting night!
O sweet delight
Here upon the lip
Cool wine to sip.

Yonder the sun,
His journey done,
Lays to earth his cheek
Slumber to seek.

A zephyr flirts
With the hills' skirts;
The sky's brow doth gleam,
A burnished stream.

Abode divine!
The night, the wine,
Soothing music of
A cooing dove.

A singing bird,
A green bough stirred:
Darkness leans, to sup
At gloaming's cup.
