THIS I REMEMBER by ELISABETH CHANNING ALLEN

First Line: A CLOUDLESS SKY
Last Line: FISHERMAN . . . DO YOU!
Subject(s): FISH & FISHING; ANGLERS;

A cloudless sky,
A sun-warmed brook,
Crooked old pole,
Bent pin for a hook.

Barefoot boy with
A piece of twine,
Knotted and spliced,
For a fishing line.

Lunch in a bag
Smoky frying pan,
Wriggling worms
In a rusty can.

Big bear-hug, a
Kiss or two;
This I remember,
Fisherman . . . do you!
