EMBLEMS OF LOVE: 32. THERE'S NO DEFENCE AGAINST LOVE by PHILIP AYRES

First Line: TO SWORD AND GUN WE STEEL OPPOSE AND BLUFF
Last Line: THERE IS NO FENCE AGAINST HIS PROT'STANT FLAIL.
Subject(s): LOVE;

To sword and gun we steel oppose and buff,
To bearded shafts a trusty coat of mail,
But against Cupid's darts no armour's proof,
There is no fence against his Prot'stant flail.
