WHY DID YOU DEPART AT DUSK? by CLARISSA M. BAILEY

First Line: ON YOUR LAST JOURNEY, WHY DID YOU SET OUT AT DUSK?
Last Line: OF EARTH? -- FOR, UNAFRAID, AT DUSK YOU WENT AWAY.
Subject(s): DAWN; DUSK; TRAVEL; SUNRISE; JOURNEYS; TRIPS;

On your last journey, why did you set out at dusk?
You, who had always loved the dawn,
Ne'er venturing forth till night was gone, --
Then why, that last, last time, did you depart at dusk?

Or, in his radiant exit, did the King of Day
Inspire you with courage and gently helm
You to a fairer dawn beyond the realm
Of earth? -- for, unafraid, at dusk you went away.
