MEMORY by AMANDA LUELLA BARLOW

First Line: A STRETCH OF SAND
Last Line: A LIVING MEMORY.
Subject(s): MEMORY;

A stretch of sand,
A turquoise sea,
A maid,
A youth,
Ah! joyous memory.

A plighted troth,
A stately church,
A ring,
A vow,
A sacred memory.

A cottage home,
A baby's laugh,
A song,
A prayer,
Oh! tender memory.

A battlefield,
A cold, white face,
A mound,
A cross,
'Tis sorrow's memory.

A country served,
A young life given,
A star,
A crown,
A living memory.
