OCTOBER by MARIE DAVIES WARREN BECKNER

First Line: OCTOBER IS GOWNED IN BRILLIANT RED
Last Line: TO HOLD BACK GRAY NOVEMBER SKIES.
Subject(s): OCTOBER;

October is gowned in brilliant red
With a golden coronet on her head.
She envies the peach-bloom tints of May,
And the rose June wore on a summer day.

October's gay magnificence
Is but her pitiful defense!
Like every woman, she but tries
To hold back gray November skies.
