SPRING by HARRIET DAYTON BELL

First Line: THE WILLOWS' CELADON AIGRETS
Last Line: THAT SPRING'S AN ANTIC LIFE!
Subject(s): HAPPINESS; JOY; DELIGHT;

The willows' celadon aigrets
And the robin bantlings warn
Snails to erect antenna --
So the carnival be on!

Bambino swallows dartle
On gracile, facile wing:
The world's again a'startle
To the rigmarole of Spring.

The air resounds with chit-chat,
For revelry is rife;
And we smile, as we remember
That Spring's an antic life!
