YE rapid troops and light, Who your far-wandering flight O'er every region take, And, murmuring shrill and low, Through shady verdures go, And sway and gently shake. I offer flowerets, Lilies and violets, And roses fair to you. Roses all nature's pride, New blown and open wide, And bright carnations too. With your soft, cooling breath, Blow over plain and heath, Blow hither fresh and fleet, The while I toil and strain, To fan the wheaten grain Beneath the midday heat. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...VERSES FROM THE GRANDE CHARTREUSE by MATTHEW ARNOLD PIANO by DAVID HERBERT LAWRENCE ADDRESS TO THE MUMMY AT BELZONI'S EXHIBITION by HORACE SMITH FALSTAFF'S SONG by EDMUND CLARENCE STEDMAN WINDY NIGHTS by ROBERT LOUIS STEVENSON THE THREE BEST THING: 1.
