SPRING COURAGE by MADELINE BENEDICT

First Line: THE SPRING HAS COME, AND SCILLAS BLUE
Last Line: THEY STAND UP BRAVELY, THOUGH THEY'RE DRENCHED.
Subject(s): SPRING;

The Spring has come, and scillas blue
Are bravely lifting up their heads;
But last night, winter came anew,
And put snow blankets on their beds.
It covered all the lively bloom;
But see, the snow is melting now,
And even in the cold and gloom
Those pert, blue scillas won't allow
Their strength of color to be quenched;
They stand up bravely, though they're drenched.
