CONTRABAND by AVENELLE WILMETH BLAIR

First Line: A WOMAN SHOULD THINK OF STRIKES, IN THESE HARD TIMES
Last Line: DEAR ... I APOLOGIZE!
Subject(s): WOMEN'S RIGHTS; FEMINISM;

A woman should think of strikes, in these hard times,
When business is troubled and on the shelf;
(She should never play with thoughts of a plaster elf,
Foolish figure for a garden path, and desire for chimes,
Those thin strands of swinging glass
That little winds tinkle as they pass,
She should hush, with all her heart's other cries!)
Dear ... I apologize!
