OVERTONES by CHARLES GRANGER BLANDEN

First Line: SO SOFTLY SANG A BIRD
Last Line: WHAT THRILLED IT YESTERDAY.
Subject(s): BIRDS;

So softly sang a bird,
So gently flowed the stream,
The overtone I heard
Perchance was but a dream.

One spake so sweet and low,
And went so soon away,
My heart will never know
What thrilled it yesterday.
