AUTUMN LEAVES by PEARL B. BLOSS

First Line: NATURE TURNED THEIR SOMBER GREEN
Last Line: IN OTHER THINGS WHICH GROW.
Subject(s): AUTUMN; GROWTH; LEAVES; SEASONS; FALL;

Nature turned their somber green
To brilliant orange and red;
Then sent them off tremblingly,
To go where breezes led.

The wind whispered, "Come with me,
Sail away on play-like wings."
They laughed, then sang as off they flew,
With a joy contentment brings.

Fluffy rivals forced them down,
Then wrapped them in woolly snow.
Here they'll sleep till they wake anew
In other things which grow.
