O, GO NOT YET! by QUINTIN BONE

First Line: O, GO NOT YET - NOT YET! / NIGHT VEILS HER MYRIAD STARS
Last Line: O, GO NOT YET -- NOT YET!
Subject(s): LOVE; NIGHT; BEDTIME;

O, GO not yet -- not yet!
Night veils her myriad stars,
As now wide-shimmering bars
Of level moonlight flit
Far o'er the glistering sea,
And light, dear heart, on thee, --
O, go not yet -- not yet!

O, go not yet -- not yet!
The moonlit air falls cold,
But we, under this old
Grey oak and tall elm, sit
Warm with love's passion-heat
Hearing our hearts beat, beat; --
O, go not yet -- not yet!

O, go not yet -- not yet!
I would this were each night, --
That round thy neck snow-white,
These arms should ne'er unknit;
Come quickly, happy day,
When I shall not need say, --
O, go not yet -- not yet!
