CHERRY-BUDS by GAMALIEL BRADFORD

First Line: WHEN CHERRY-BUDS APPEAR
Last Line: SHOULD NOT BE SUNG OR SAID.
Subject(s): CHERRIES; FRUIT; LOVE - LOSS OF;

When cherry-buds appear
And the dainty May is young,
The joys of love, my dear,
Should not be said or sung.

And when the autumn leaf
Is dying, dying, dead,
Love in its lonely grief
Should not be sung or said.
