MOONRISE IN THE ROCKIES by ROUTH PICKETT BRADLEY

First Line: I'VE SEEN THE MOON RISE OVER VAST ENDLESS PLAINS
Last Line: AGAINST THE GLAMOUR OF THE NIGHT.
Subject(s): MOON; ROCKY MOUNTAIN RANGE;

I've seen the moon rise over vast endless plains
Of desert sand and sage,
And over glinting restless waves
As they moaned in sullen rage --
I've seen the magic of its spell
As it glimmered tenderly above
Exotic gardens and fell
Upon my heart's romantic love.
But moonrise in the Rockies is the best --
Where she sheds her lucent light
On those ageless, rugged peaks, pine-crest
Against the glamour of the night.
