NIGHT by CATHERINE BRADSHAW

First Line: THE WITCHING MAGIC OF THE SCENTED NIGHT
Last Line: EACH CORNER HIDDEN NOW BY NIGHT'S KIND DARK.
Subject(s): MAGIC; NIGHT; SPRING; BEDTIME;

The witching magic of the scented night
Made sweet by purple lilacs and green grass;
The pale glow of the silver arc on high,
And murmur of the aspens growing tall
That peer within the mirror of the pool;
This night with all the beauty of the spring
Is, as a dream, a prelude to the dawn,
When glaring sunlight marks in white relief
Each corner hidden now by night's kind dark.
