FALL FIELDS by RICHARD EUGENE BURTON

First Line: THE SOBER-GOLDEN FIELDS LIE SOAKED IN LIGHT
Last Line: TURNS PALER BLUE ABOVE SUCH TAPESTRY.
Subject(s): AUTUMN; FIELDS; LIGHT; RUGS; SEASONS; FALL; PASTURES; MEADOWS; LEAS; CARPETS;

THE sober-golden fields lie soaked in light,
Like a great rug with patterns interplight
Of tint and tone; God's ancient place, the sky,
Turns paler blue above such tapestry.
