I know a lad, a sailor free, Whose good ship drifts right merrily To seek a vast and distant land, With every fate at his command. I know a lad, a warrior bold, Who conquers every foe foretold; Like leaves beneath the whirlwind's sway, The baffled enemy flee away. I know a lad, a builder grand, Who shapes fine castles out of sand, With moats and bridges, turrets high, And gardens that delight the eye.
