TOWARDS DEMOCRACY: PART 3. I ACCEPT YOU by EDWARD CARPENTER

First Line: I ACCEPT YOU ALTOGETHER - AS THE SEA ACCEPTS THE FISH THAT SWIM IN IT
Last Line: AND BEYOND MY BOUNDARIES YOU CANNOT GO.
Subject(s): FORGIVENESS; CLEMENCY;

I ACCEPT you altogether—as the sea accepts the fish that swim in it.
It is no good apologising for anything you have done, for you have never
been anywhere yet but what I have sustained you—
And beyond my boundaries you cannot go.
