COMPENSATION by MARY BEALE CARR

First Line: THE MOUNTAIN WEARS A MELLOW MOOD TODAY
Last Line: HAS DRUNK THE CUP OF LIFE THAT BEAUTY SPILLS.
Subject(s): NATURE;

The mountain wears a mellow mood today,
A haze of transient glory crowns its crest,
Where purpling blues and pinks hold cloudless sway
As evening banks long sunbeams in the West.
He who turns his face to peaceful hills
Has drunk the cup of Life that Beauty spills.
