WIND IN THE CYPRESS by MARY BEALE CARR

First Line: WIND IN THE CYPRESS, - SING TO ME!
Last Line: LIKE BROKEN CHORDS FROM A HARP UNSTRUNG.
Subject(s): CYPRESS TREES; WIND;

Wind in the cypress, -- sing to me!
Tell of the Stranger who stayed but a day.
Of the Stranger who came -- and left still free,
But took my heart when he went away.

Wind in the cypress -- age-old tune,
Sing to me under the high full moon --
Weave for me notes that were never sung,
Like broken chords from a harp unstrung.
