WANDERLUST by ELINOR G. CHAPLER

First Line: I HEAR THE CARS THAT HUM ALONG AT NIGHT
Last Line: BUT TRAVEL NEVER EQUALS COMING HOME.
Subject(s): WANDERING & WANDERERS; WANDERLUST; VAGABONDS; TRAMPS; HOBOES;

I hear the cars that hum along at night,
The purr of motors moving through the sky,
While down below a train goes whistling by;
And darkness moans with work of human might.
My heart will always heed the call to roam;
Recalling lands I've seen will bring a sigh,
But travel never equals coming home.
