COMPLAINT by EDWARD RALPH CHEYNEY

First Line: NOT THAT GRIEF WILL SEAR WITH SO MUCH PAIN
Last Line: HE MAKES COMPLAINT . . . . BUT THAT IT LEAVES A CALLUS.
Subject(s): GRIEF; TEARS; SORROW; SADNESS;

Not that grief will sear with so much pain
But that it comes and goes so quick again;
Not that it floods with tears this too-fleshed chalice,
He makes complaint . . . . but that it leaves a callus.
