LIFE PASSES ON by MARIANNE CLARKE

First Line: WHY BIND ME NOW - 'I AM THAT WHICH I AM'
Last Line: THROUGH SHINING OPEN GATEWAYS WE EMBARK.
Subject(s): DEATH; DEAD, THE;

Why bind me now -- "I am that which I am"
With change impossible; life seems no gain
When unity is like a wandering lamb,
Alone in flocks that crowd the grassy plain;
We love the weird effects that nature makes:
The sun ignites and dancing sparks entrance
From brilliant light on ocean waves and lakes, --
All living things keep rhythm with the dance.

Death is new life, though concepts rule as guides
To answer self -- with happiness in mind;
Time holds the truth, and common sense decides
In seeking future unknown joys to wind:
Tense wishes fire the air's electric spark
Through shining open gateways we embark.
