How powerfully he dominates his day With judgment and in understanding skill; And courage rare that falters not until Grim death defeated turns another way. The task is done; a life is saved; once more In quick succession comes another case And he forgetting self again must face -- A life to save -- death lurking as before! And so he lives and serves humanity In duty's thorny path of highest worth; No measuring his service here on earth.
