RAIN AFTER SNOW by ELIZABETH CROW

First Line: CRYSTAL AND SILVER IS THIS DAY
Last Line: OF BEAUTY THROUGH A CRYSTAL CASE.
Subject(s): RAIN; SNOW;

Crystal and silver is this day;
The trees are onyx cased in glass;
And every shrub drips shimmering lines
Of fragile prisms toward the grass.

The very air is reverent, still.
It is as though one saw the face
(And seeing, paused, and held one's breath)
Of Beauty through a crystal case.
