DEAR ONE by ELLEN W. CUNNINGHAM

First Line: ON EVERY STAIR I SEE HER
Last Line: THAT I LOVE YOU OR NONE?
Subject(s): LOVE;

On every stair I see her.
Eyes, face all aglow
With memories that cheer
The one that waits below.

The heart has woven a pattern
Around a sweet blue flower
Which I can press and flatten
Against days many showers.

Tell me pretty kitten
Why I love you so.
Never say I am smitten
With another girl to go.

Stark terror overtakes me,
My dear pleased one.
For can't I make you see,
That I love you or none?
