THAT GOLDEN TIME by WILLIAM HENRY DAVIES

Poet Analysis

First Line: WHEN WILL IT COME, THAT GOLDEN TIME
Last Line: MAKES EVERY MAN A KING.
Subject(s): FREEDOM; LABOR & LABORERS; LIBERTY; WORK; WORKERS;

When will it come, that golden time,
When every man is free?
Men who have power to choose their tasks
Have all their liberty.

They'll sweat and toil who love to feel
Their muscles swell and move;
While men whose minds are more to them,
Create the dreams we love.

When will it come, that golden time,
When every heart must sing?
The power to choose the work we love
Makes every man a king.
