THE WORLD MAY CHARGE by WILLIAM HENRY DAVIES

Poet Analysis

First Line: THE WORLD MAY CHARGE A MAN WITH SIN
Last Line: THEY THINK ONE THOUGHT OF HIS DISGRACE?

The world may charge a man with sin,
That to no woman can be proved --
Until she finds a part that shows
She is by him no longer loved.

When they walk out, and trust in him
Is shining in her happy face,
Who'll dare to show them with cold looks
They think one thought of his disgrace?
