WHERE WE AGREE by WILLIAM HENRY DAVIES

Poet Analysis

First Line: GIVE HER HER RIBBON, BELT OR SCARF
Last Line: TO ANY THING IN HEAVEN OR EARTH.

Give her her ribbon, belt or scarf —
To match my rainbow in the sky;
Let her prefer her looking-glass,
When dewdrops meet me, eye to eye.
Give her her pretty flowers or stars,
Embossed in silk and figured lace;
While I prefer their living forms,
Set in a green or azure place.
Give her her choice, and give me mine,
Remembering still Love's greater worth —
That she and I prefer each other
To any thing in Heaven or Earth.
