WE MUST GO ALONE by PHILIP DIAMOND

First Line: MOSTLY I GO ALONE
Last Line: OUR DAY IS DONE.
Subject(s): SOLITUDE; LONELINESS;

Mostly I go alone
Like a ship through the night
Buffeted about, wind-blown,
Waiting for the dawn of light.

Mostly I walk alone
In silence through the night.
My life is mine own --
You cannot share my plight.

So life goes:
We must go alone.
Our eyelids close,
Our day is done.
